Draft Boyle Local Transport Plan – Public Consultation

Transport Insights has successfully prepared the Draft Boyle Local Transport Plan (LTP) in collaboration with Roscommon County Council. Serving as the final deliverable of the Boyle Area Based Transport Assessment (ABTA) process, this milestone report has been developed to inform future land use zoning and the forthcoming Settlement Plan for the town.

The primary objective of the Boyle LTP is to provide a comprehensive framework that enables the safe, efficient, and sustainable movement of pedestrians and vehicles throughout the area. The plan identifies potential transport challenges and outlines the necessary interventions to ensure development is planned and phased in alignment with broader national and regional policies. Ultimately, it will act as a guiding access, mobility, and transport framework to help secure funding for initiatives that support the sustainable growth of Boyle.

Community feedback is essential to refining these recommendations and ensuring they meet the needs of those who live, work, and travel in the area. A public consultation period on the Draft Boyle LTP is currently ongoing, providing residents and local stakeholders with an opportunity to review the proposals and share their views. The consultation will end at 16:00 on Monday, 4 May 2026, and we encourage all interested parties to participate and help shape the future of Boyle’s transport network.
