N71 Bandon Southern Relief Road Extension

Transport Insights’ team are delighted to have been recently appointed by Cork County Council, as part of the Fehily Timoney & Company Ltd/ Clandillon Civil Consulting Ltd Joint Venture (FTC), to advance planning of the N71 Bandon Southern Relief Road Extension.

The N71 National Secondary Road connects Cork City to West Cork and Co. Kerry, running through several large towns including Bandon. It provides a vital connection between Cork City and West Cork. The proposed scheme will improve connectivity for business and tourism, enhance safety for all road users, and unlock opportunities for enhanced active travel and public realm infrastructure within Bandon Town. 

Transport Insights is providing traffic modelling and transport appraisal support to Phase 2 (Options Selection) of the scheme’s development.
