Letterkenny Active Travel Schemes

Transport Insights is delighted to be partnering with Clandillon Civil Consulting in providing transport planning support to Donegal County Council in relation to advancement of the Letterkenny Active Travel Schemes, part of a planned network of active travel infrastructure within Letterkenny town and its environs. The project is part of the Government’s Pathfinder Programme, and aims to significantly enhance active travel facilities at key locations within the town. Transport Insights has provided transport planning, traffic assessment and junction modelling support to Clandillon for the various schemes as they advance through the National Transport Authority’s Project Approval Guidelines phases.

One such project to proceed to construction is the Convent Road Scheme which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The scheme provides improved active travel facilities along Convent Road, with educational facilities located along it benefitting from its delivery.

Transport Insights looks forward to continuing to work with Clandillon Civil Consulting and Donegal County Council on the development of the remaining active travel schemes within Letterkenny.
