Delivering a meaningful modal shift towards non-car travel modes of travel e.g. walking, cycling, scooting, public transport, mobility as a service, etc. is a key transport policy objective, with such change essential to deliver upon overarching climate change goals. Consideration of these users from the outset of the planning and design processes ensures their needs are accommodated. In doing so, it has the potential to maximise their future use and minimise traffic impacts.
