Akshai is a Consultant Transport Planner at Transport Insights, having joined the team in June 2025. He has over four years transport planning experience, with a strong focus on strategic transport modelling across the UK and Middle East regions.

Before joining Transport Insights, Akshai worked as an Associate Transport Planner at AtkinsRealis, focusing on strategic transport solutions encompassing highways, public transport, and active travel infrastructure. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from CET Trivandrum (2017) and a master’s degree in Transportation Engineering and Management from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy (2020).

Throughout his career, Akshai has contributed to a wide array of projects, including:

• Development and analysis of highway, public transport, and active travel networks using SATURN and VISUM
• Geospatial visualisation using QGIS and MapInfo
• Data processing and automation, including use of VBA and Python
• Traffic and transport assessments
• Net zero carbon calculations
• Variable demand model runs and response analysis
• Technical reports and presentations.
