Dundalk Active Travel Project: Part 8

Transport Insights is delighted to be partnering with WSP Ireland in relation to the Dundalk Active Travel Project on behalf of Louth County Council. The project involves a number of schemes within the environs of Dundalk town and seeks to provide improved active travel facilities on key routes. The schemes include proposed carriageway and junction improvements, in line with the NTA’s latest Cycle Design Manual guidance.
A Part 8 application for the ‘Xerox Junction to Greengates’ scheme was recently published (statutory consultation closed in early-February 2026) by Louth County Council. The scheme proposes new active travel facilities along a ca. 2.8km section of the Dublin Road (R132), Dundalk. Transport Insights has provided traffic modelling support to WSP, thereby informing the suitability and optimal layout of upgraded junctions.
Transport Insights looks forward to continuing to work with WSP and Louth County Council in further advancing the remaining active travel schemes within Dundalk.
