National Cricket Centre – Planning Permission

National Cricket Centre – Planning Permission

Fingal County Council has recently granted planning permission for the proposed National Cricket Centre development at the Sport Ireland Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. Building upon Transport Insights’ prior completion of an Area Based Transport Assessment (ABTA) for the Campus, we worked as part of a multi-disciplinary planning and design team, including Cunnane Stratton Reynolds, FaulknerBrowns Architects, LDA Design and Arup, and provided transport consultancy support in advancing the proposed development. Support included the preparation of a Traffic and Transport Assessment, and Framework Mobility Management Plan, Framework Event Traffic Management Plan, and development of a Campus Parking Strategy. Our team also supported pre-planning engagement with Fingal County Council and engagement with the National Transport Authority regarding bus service and related infrastructure provision within the Campus.

The proposed development, when completed, shall have 4,240 spectator seats, a high-performance centre, and player and match official building. The project will also include supporting infrastructure and parking facilities. More information about the project can be found in the official announcement on the Sport Ireland website.
