Brickfield House Development

Transport Insights is delighted to be providing on-going support to Durkan (Brickfield Drive) Limited in support of the Brickfield House Strategic Housing Development (SHD), comprising 282 no. apartment units in addition to an on-site gym, creche and café at Brickfield House, Brickfield Drive, Crumlin, Dublin 12.

As part of the planning stage of the project Transport Insights undertook a Traffic and Transport Assessment (TTA) including junction modelling in order to demonstrate that the development would not have an undue impact on the adjoining local road network. The TTA demonstrated that the development site is well located and extremely well served by existing public transport infrastructure and that the development would benefit from a reduced on-site car parking provision and an associated emphasis on active travel modes and car sharing. A Residential Travel Plan (RTP) which set ambitious yet realistic mode share targets for travel to and from the development was also prepared by Transport Insights. In addition, Transport Insights provided extensive traffic engineering design advice in relation to the ground floor and basement layouts, car and cycling parking and pedestrian facilities. Transport Insights is currently providing on-going traffic management support for the development.
