Our H2020 research interests

TransportInsightsFinal-01

In keeping with Transport Insights’ commitment to innovation, we are keen to pursue development of new approaches, tools and techniques to address the transport related economic, social and environmental challenges facing Ireland and Europe.  As a result, we warmly welcome Horizon 2020, the EU’s research and innovation programme from 2014 to 2020.  As an SME, Transport Insights finds it particularly encouraging to see the emphasis given to SMEs by the European Commission in devising and delivering the programme.

Although Transport Insights’ team skills are aligned with a number of the societal challenges[1], we are particularly eager to explore opportunities under the “Smart, Green and Integrated Transport” heading.  Having mapped key Transport Insights team capabilities against the draft work programme[2] we have identified the following research and innovation themes as being of primary interest:-

    • Urban mobility:
      • MG.5.1-2014: Transforming the use of conventionally fuelled vehicles in urban areas
      • MG.5.3-2014: Tackling urban road congestion
      • MG.5.4-2015: Strengthening the knowledge and capacities of local authorities.
  • Socio-economic and behavioural research and forward looking activities for policy making:
    • MG.5.4-2015: Strengthening the knowledge and capacities of local authorities.
    • MG.9.1-2015: Transport societal drivers
    • MG.9.2-2014: User behaviour and mobility patterns in the context of major societal trends.

The above areas are of primary interest to Transport Insights, however we are eager to explore suitable opportunities elsewhere in the work programme.
