Transport Insights, as sub-consultant to Green Workplaces, has recently been engaged by the National Transport Authority (NTA) to provide mobility management support to the national Smarter Travel Programme.  The programme aims to encourage active and sustainable travel (walking, cycling and the use of public transport) in workplaces, universities and schools throughout Ireland.

Speaking on the appointment, Transport Insights' Managing Director, Ciaran McKeon commented "Garret Murphy's support to the Green Workplaces team and the NTA represents a further opportunity for Transport Insights to develop our core team's behavioral change and sustainable transport capabilities."

SDCC PT Review Cover ImageTransport Insights has been appointed by South Dublin County Council to review public transport accessibility within South County Dublin.  The evidence based review will be underpinned by detailed analysis of public transport networks and services, and shaped by public and business consultation activities.

The project need has emerged as an action of the County's Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) 2016-2021, and its findings will be summarised within the South Dublin County Transport Report.

Transport Insights' Managing Director Ciaran McKeon said of the appointment "we are delighted to have the opportunity to assist South Dublin County Council in reviewing public transport accessibility in the County.  We look forward to enhancing awareness of public transport options available to residents within the County, and to identifying potential accessibility gaps and options to overcome them."
2016-05-17 15.03.20 small - CopyTransport Insights has provided advice and support to City Centre businesses and residents in response to a public consultation for Dublin City Council's proposed College Green Traffic Management Measures.

The proposals consist of the development of a civic plaza at College Green, with numerous bus services rerouted through Parliament Street.  Following baseline data collection and analysis, and a critique of the proposed scheme against the City Development Plan and best practice, the proposed scheme was found to have a negative impact on the pedestrian environment, commercial activities and residential amenity on Parliament Street and the wider Temple Bar area.

The findings of the review were summarised within a Transport Submission in response to the consultation, which can be found at this link.  Following conclusion of the consultation process, Dublin City Council now intend to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment of the proposed scheme.
